Having known much of our leadership team in a previous life, Barry was asked to step into the role of Installation Manager during a period of high demand – and he’s never looked back.

Barry started working in the security industry at just 17 years old and has spent more than 25 years gaining an in-depth understanding of the systems we install, and the clients we install them for. His engineering experience, calm mentality, and man-management skills are invaluable to our business, which is why we invited him to head up our installations team back in 2019.

Having spent such a long time as an engineer himself, Barry understands that preparation is key to running an efficient team of engineers. This includes meticulous diary management, stock control, and superb communication across the office and engineering teams.

At ECS, our ethos has always been that ‘nothing is impossible’ and that ‘there is always a way’. Barry champions this ethos with his positive energy and can-do attitude – something that is essential in a role that is often extremely reactive and varied.

Where required, Barry supports our team of surveyors and consultants to ensure our specified systems meet the clients’ requirements and are compliant. This can often include site visits, individual client consultations, or in-house design meetings.

Outside of work, Barry spends as many hours as he can with his wife and young family. He is partial to a round of golf and is an experienced DJ, having performed in popular London night clubs and overseas.
